Newland House Master Bedroom
The room that you are looking at now is the master bedroom. It is the room where William and Mary Newland slept and the room that their last two children, Helen and Bernice, were born.
Helen and Bernice were raised in the next room.
The picture you see between the two windows is a hand-tinted photo of William Newland and the dress in front of his picture is Mary Newland's party dress, hat and shoes . Her cape hangs from the door.
The kerosene lamp on the table was used in the house for lighting.
The bed is a three-quarter size bed and was a popular size in the early days of the last century and a family member said that this is the size of bed that the Newland parents used.
