When dinner time arrived on the Newland ranch, Mary Newland or one of her daughters would ring the dinner bell (pictured above) to summon the family and the hands from the fields for their evening meal.

Mary is shown in her garden (right picture) in 1948

Opening presents at Christmas in 1949, Mary Newland and her cousin Rosa Campbell
find that Santa Claus left many gifts.

This brings us to the end of our tour of the Newland House with scenes of family life on the ranch.

This internet tour is only a brief tour of the historic Newland House Museum and you should stop in for a complete tour from one of its trained docents (tour guides).

The house is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 4 pm. Please come about a half hour before closing time.

The house is closed on major holidays and on rainy days.

If you have a large group coming, please call in advance to be sure that enough docents are available.

Thank you for taking the time for this short tour of the historic Newland House Museum.
