David Wayne McMillan and Laura Satterfield Landers are blessed and happy to announce the engagement of their wedding to be May 22, 2010. The Rev. Michael R. Johnson, Austin, TX performed the ceremony. Rita L. Rora of Tovey, Il., served as the bride's Maid of Honor and Janet G. Keim of Lincoln, Il., as bridesmaid. Douglas A. Bender of Huntington Beach, CA., was David's Best Man and Rodney D. Satterfield of Springfield, Il., served as Groomsman. A reception followed at LifePointe Fellowship, Hutto, TX.
Music provided during the ceremony included Variations on "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee," by Beethoven, and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," by Bach, both performed and arranged by Stephen J. Baker; "Loving You," written and performed by David Wayne McMillan; "Your Love," written and performed by Laura Landers.
Parents of David are Douglas and Lynn Bender of Huntington Beach, and grandparents are Max and Mary Jean Bender and Christ and Esther Simoulis. Parents of Laura are Bryan and Ruth Satterfield of Springfield, Il, and grandparents are Glade and Myrtle Satterfield and Frederick and Eva Campbell.
David is of the class of 1980 of Marina High School in Huntington Beach, CA. Laura is of the class of 1987 of Calvary Academy in Springfield, IL.
David and Laura share a love for God and the Bible. David has studied the Bible extensively, having completed several Biblical courses and obtained certifications in such subjects as Christology, Christian Apologetics, Comparative Religion, and Cult Evangelism. Some schools he enjoyed learning Bible through are these: Christian Research Institute, Calvary Chapel Bible College, Wheaton College, and Simon Greenleaf University.
Laura earned her Associate of Music degree at Springfield College in Illinois and her Bachelor of Music Education degree at Greenville College in Illinois. David and Laura are both Christian musicians and enjoy sharing their music that the Lord gives--including the songs off of their albums Unable to Deny (David) and Laura Landers (self-titled). David has lived and made his living as a successful painting contractor as owner of his own business--Dalin Painting Contractors--in Huntington Beach, CA; and Laura has been teaching music the past ten and a half years in Hutto, TX.
The couple plans to reside in Hutto and continue ministering to people for the Lord in music, including owning and operating Make a Joyful Noise School of Music together. To God alone be the glory!
