HUNTINGTON BEACH...Surf City locals can now show off their city to visitors with their own personalized boardies featuring original photos of Huntington Beach surfing events on them. Perfect for traveling to other towns and beaches, it shows off the pride we have for our city's surfing community.

Quiksilver and Jack's Surfboards have teamed up to create a boardshort designed specifically for the Huntington Beach locals and world traveling surfers that visit the shop. The boardies are patterned with personalized photographs of local surf enthusiasts.
Born in Orange County, California in 1957, Jack's Surfboards has become a surf culture icon. It's flagship store on the corner of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway is as much of a permanent fixture to the local landscape as the Huntington Beach Pier, which is a few steps from Jack's front door.

The service will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. September 4-5 and Monday, September 6 (Labor Day).

Free parking is available at Huntington Beach City Hall (2000 Main Street) and the Shuttle operates continuously throughout the day, providing free, convenient rides to stops at Main and Orange, and 5th Street/The Strand on the fun, woody-style vehicle. Recent passenger surveys have indicated that people from both Huntington Beach, surrounding cities, and even visitors from other countries have given high marks to the shuttle for efficiency, fun and service – if you haven’t had the chance to experience it, or want to make sure you get a chance to ride again before summer is over – make time to shop, dine and stroll downtown via the Surf City Downtown Shuttle!
HUNTINGTON BEACH...The Oak View Branch Library is celebrating its 15th anniversary! As part of the celebration, everyone is invited to help the library raise funds for new children’s books by making contributions as low as $1.00 to “The Giving Tree/El Arbol Generoso”. Library patrons can buy a leaf to put on the tree for $1.00, an apple for $5.00, a butterfly for $10.00 or an owl for $25.00. All items can be personalized by the donor and will be on display at the Oak View branch. The Oak View Branch hopes to raise at least $1,500 -- $100 for each year of success in the community -- to purchase new books for the library. Every leaf will help Oak View get closer to that goal! Anyone wishing to make a donation and/or to obtain additional information can call (714) 375-5068.
HUNTINGTON BEACH...A new traffic signal is being put into operation at the intersection of Atlanta Avenue and Huntington Street. The signal is currently in flash mode, to bring it to the attention of travelers in the area.

Constructed as a condition of approval for the Pacific City development, the new signal replaces a four-way stop. The traffic signal will be a standard permissive operation, in which safe left turns are allowed on the green light. The signal is expected to be fully operational by this week.
