Real Estate Agent and Broker Associate Mika Mitchell

HUNTINGTON BEACH...This week we'll continue our search to know about the people whose signs you may have seen on your neighborhood street corners that advertises an open house for sale or even who may have sold you your dream home in Huntington Beach.

Out where the west begins in the City of the Angels of Los Angeles is the city of West Los Angeles and the birthplace of this week's Realtor and Broker Associate Mika Mitchell.

Mika has four brothers and one sister, but she is the only one to follow her parents into the real estate business.

She attended Agoura High School and it was at UC Berkeley where Mika received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts.

When Mika was a young girl she never thought of becoming a real estate agent, she wanted to become a professional gymnast.

Her first job was working in a donut shop in the San Fernando Valley where she got her first experience with the buying public.

Her dream of becoming a gymnast was put to bed after an injury doing an arial cartwheel on the balance beam, but not too long later she met her future husband Gregg. The couple today have three boys, Beau, Wyatt and Zane and live in Huntington Beach since 2000.

Her dad now stepped in to help her with passing her real estate license in 2004 and her Broker Associate license in 2016.

"When I made my first sale I was elated and felt like I had found my calling," said Mika.

Today she works out of the Re/Max Terrasol office at 21188 Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach. Mika has received several awards for her work in real estate including being in the Top 10 and in the 100 Club.

As with most professional agents, free time is a rarity, but when she does find those elusive moments, she enjoys painting, working puzzles, bike riding and jogging. But that isn't all, Mika has been an Assistance League volunteer, a Moffett school PTA President and helps at Edison High events.

The Mitchell family also includes a dog Mahi, and two Cockateils, Sally and Rocky.

Mika's business phone is 714-343-3402.
