HUNTINGTON BEACH...This week we'll continue our search to know about the people whose signs you may have seen on your neighborhood street corners that advertises an open house for sale or even who may have sold you your dream home in Huntington Beach.

This week's real estate agent comes from a real estate family and is also a junior in name and a junior in the business. Both his parents are in the real estate business since the 1980s.

Doug knows surf city and its residents very well, having been born and lives in Huntington Beach all his life.

Doug attended La Bard Elementary School, Sowers Middle School, and Edison High School before attending Orange Coast College, and Cal-Poly Pomona where he received his BA degree.

At a young age Doug dreamed of becoming a soccer player.

But while a young man, Doug was figuring ways of making extra money, first by working at a Christmas Tree lot selling holiday trees and later at Del Pizza. His first real job was with the Kodak Company.

As a Kodak sales Representative, Doug traveled the globe which gave him a opportunity to go backpacking around Europe with friends. It was here that Doug caught the real estate bug. In 2001 he looked into what it takes of becoming a real estate agent and with the advice from his parents and by following his dad around getting the knowledge and experience, Doug took the plunge and took the test and received his license in 2002.

In his first six months of becoming an agent, Doug sold $3.8 million in home sales.

"I felt excited not just for me, but for the buyer as well at that first sale. I sold a school friend's house and I have a plaque on the wall with the first dollar from that sale," said Doug.

Doug would later live in the Sea Bridge housing complex at Beach Boulevard and Adams Avenue and as luck would have it, he met a young lady named Rachel who lived 36 steps from him.

You guessed it, love bloomed like a beautiful red rose into marriage and now the couple have a 7-year-old daughter Giavanna.

Doug likes to go snowboarding and recently returned from Mammoth. He also loved golfing or going to the gym when he is not at his desk at BeachPointe Properties in SeaCliff Business complex.
