HUNTINGTON BEACH...This week we'll continue to get to know the people whose signs you may have seen on your neighborhood street corners that advertises an open house for sale or even who may have sold you your dream home in Huntington Beach.

This week we are privileged to get to know Realtor Judy McCarty who is a member of the Seven Gables Real Estate team.

But long before becoming a real estate agent, you may seen her photo if you had shopped at a Ralphs Grocery store anywhere in Southern California. Right at the entrance of every Ralphs store you may have unknowingly seen her on one of the security poles which featured McCarty's photo with that friendly smile of hers.

McCarty was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but just after her first birthday, her family relocated to Orange County where McCarty attended Westminster's La Quinta High before going to college at Orange Coast Community College and later at Rancho Santiago Community College where she studied Child Psychology.

In 1990 McCarty began her long association with Ralphs Grocery as a Courtesy Clerk at their Newport Beach market. In less than two years McCarty was promoted to cashier and won the store's employees Courtesy Clerk of the Year 1991.

In 2000 McCarty transferred to the Ralphs store at Goldenwest Street and Garfield Avenue where she still continues to cashier.

"I love working with people and it makes me feel good to have helped our customers in their new lives." said McCarty.

In 2003 McCarty won Ralphs Grocery Company's Queen of Courtesy where her photo would appear in every Ralphs Southern California store entrance. The judges singled her out in recognition of her exceptional professional expertise, outstanding job knowledge and friendly service-oriented approach to her customers and fellow employees. She won the title of Queen of Courtesy against over 10,000 Ralphs employees.

In the coming June, 2020, McCarty could retire from Ralphs, but doesn't wish to leave her second family of customers she has grown to know and care about.

Four years ago with her two boys now grown up, she wanted to do more with that extra time and so became a real estate agent with Star Real Estate in the Huntington Harbour Mall. Star would later become part of Seven Gables Real Estate where today she still continues to sell property.

McCarty is married to her husband John and the two are proud parents of two boys, Johnny, 29 and Christopher, 24. She still considers them as her boys, no matter how old they are.

Her husband John captain's their own charter boat, the "Prescatori" and he also has a yacht repair service.

I'm conditioned to go out of my way in assisting my clients. Helping people has always come natural to me.
