HUNTINGTON BEACH...This week we'll continue to get to know the people whose signs you may have seen on your neighborhood street corners that advertises an open house for sale or even who may have sold you your dream home in Huntington Beach.
This week we are privileged to get to know Realtor Stephen Garcia who works with the First Team Real Estate team.
Stephen Garcia was born in Ventura which also makes him a true native Californian, but before his first birthday, his parents moved to Palm Desert
When Stephen became a teenager at 13, he and his parents moved to Pasadena to live.
Garcia received a degree in accounting and went to work for a labor union at Boeing.
During this time he rented a place to live and also got laid off from his friend John and John's mother. It was she that would get Stephen interested in real estate and the selling of same.
Stephen, his wife Robin lived in downtown Huntington Beach and they have two children, Cathy and Tommy and now live in South Huntington Beach.
After receiving his real estate license, Stephen went to work for Tarbell Realty in 2002 and was overjoyed when he sold his first property, a condo in Fountain Valley to a young couple. John was at the up desk when the couple came in looking for a place to live and that was Stephen's first sale.
In 2007 Stephen went to work at First Team Real Estate team.
Asked what he liked about selling real estate, Stephen said, It's the expression on their faces when I hand them their key to the dream home.
Stephen has sat on several city boards including the Finance Board, the Citizen Participation Advisory Board. He is a member of Orange County Association of Realtors and a former member of Pacific West Association of Realtors.
When he can find time Stephen likes to walk his dog at Dog Beach and tale long walks on our historic pier.
